The Red Wedding episode, 'Rains of Castamere,' was 51 minutes - and that included a lot of non-action build up , so yes, 52 mins is a healthy runtime for an action episode.

It'll be the greatest shame if that character is written out of the show or retconned. George RR Martin created an independent peasant girl black and she can ride a dragon. Free from this Royal lineage of the special eugenics sorcerer Kings. And they're going right back to the evil sorcerer King lineage because they have a special blood.

Also: The version of Blood & Cheese in the book is very likely Green propaganda. It's an event that takes place away from all the primary sources, and given Helena's condition afterward, what is known of the event would have been just whatever Alicent said happened. And she would have had political motivation to make it seem excessively cruel, to paint the Blacks in the worst light possible. It's like a major issue with any complaint about changes from the book: Everything in the book is written by an unreliable narrator.

I cannot fathom why people think her reaction was strange. I felt every bit of Heleana's terror. I didn't think non-autistic people would not get that. Plenty of non-autistic people would react like that.

I'm hoping we don't get Sara Snow, at least not how it's in the book. I like Jace and Baela together, and having him marry Sara just makes it way too close a parallel to Robb and Jeyne. It also doesn't really amount to anything anyway.

Thank you for addressing my biggest question I have still does Maelor exist? Regarding Jaehaerys’ death it seems strange Ser Otto the boy’s great grandfather refers to him as a grandson messing up the generational gap between the two and blames Rhaenyra for Daemon’s actions. Alicent overplays the grief to the point it seems fake maybe because of guilt due to alicole. Aegon’s emotionally lashes out to the point I actually start to like him as a character. Helaena is grief probably doubting if she did the right thing saving Jaehaera instead of Jaehaerys and everything else she doesn’t understand because the one’s who understand her paternal legacy and might understand her gift/curse are on the other team. Rhaenyra is genuinely shocked that her sister is now going through the same thing as she is. And then we have Daemon silently gleeful he gets his a son for a son moment.

I got robbed while working as a teller at a credit union. The gun wasn’t pointed at my face, but he showed me that he DID have one. He told me to “Shut up and stay calm.” I could’ve screamed and made a scene. But I was hyper-focused on making sure I did EVERYTHING he wanted me to do. I was eerily calm. Until he left. Then I sank to the ground and cried. So Helaena’s response (and Margaery’s too) was spot on.

I mean, I get where you’re coming from about the book version being too impactful for your taste. It is a bit much for most people. I personally would’ve preferred the book version or something closer to it because I appreciate the more visceral darkness that comes from GRRM’a mind, maybe that’s just the sadist in me, who knows, but I completely understand the change from a logistical/technical standpoint and I don’t fault Condal or any of the other writers for making the change. I think it does a good job of accomplishing what was intended for the show in a way that is logically consistent and coherent from a show fan’s perspective.

Honestly, at this point, it feels like the dumber fans will look for any excuse to make stupid arguments that don’t make sense either from a book perspective or in the context of what the show is having to deal with and get across in a way that makes sense.

The two main things that I didn't like about how they did Blood and Cheese was 1. That I didn't think that Daemon's plan made sense. Did he really think that a goldcloak and a ratcatcher would have a chance at killing Aemond? Aemond is a trained, deadly fighter. Would a mere goldcloak even be able to take on Aemond. I could maybe see it if they found him asleep. The second thing I didn't like about it was that they didn't have Daemon just straight up tell them to kill Jaehaerys. To me it felt like they were holding back on making Daemon even more awful than he already is.

Helaena not going catatonic is good. But it has nothing to do with the details of Blood & Cheese or who is born or isn't born yet. It is about how stable and resilient they write the character to be. They could have had her going catatonic over the version they had in the show just as well.

I understand that they gave rational and detailed reasons for the changes, I just fundamentally disagree with the changes. And just because an actor can’t tell doesn’t mean they can’t act.

Your point about the taunting thing is moot. George fucked it up in the book. He is a toddler of about 2. He has no concept of death nor his mother's choice. He could likely not even talk well yet. For him it is the same as if he were an infant. Helaena might still feel a lot of guilt over it, but not because Maelor would have understood the remark or anything else. They could have had Maelor there, they just didn't want to.

The reason why I am team green is that I am bored by most of the team black characters. This would have been such an interesting storyline to develop Jaces character. He seems like a good kid but we know next to nothing about him. Missed opportunity if you ask me.

I'm disappointed in the backlash over this scene, and think the upset fans who wanted it to be more brutal are completely wack. Also, I'm really impressed with Phia Saban's performance based solely on those scenes and am stoked to see more of her in this role, so am glad she won't * literally stop speaking. * It would be interesting if another character (another channel thinks it might be Larys?!) finally notices Helaena's vulnerability, steps into that vacuum, and encourages her towards even further madness. That would be profoundly interesting, even moreso than a purely internal Ophelia spiral. Watching more of your video has me thinking: maybe Aegon also ... perpetrates an unwanted act ... on Helaena in order to create Maegor as well, and that would be profoundly traumatic. As soon as I started typing that ^, you said it. I should probably hit that Subscribe button already, huh?

Some people apparently think the show version "couldn't possibly traumatize Helaena into a spiral of madness"? They obviously 1. saw something different from everyone else, because that was pretty traumatizing! 2. don't understand people at all, and 3. have never heard of things like "shock."

My personal experience as an autistic person is that us not having empathy for others is a myth. I, at least, very much do have empathy for others. I'm just not good at showing it. I'm a lot higher on the spectrum than Helaena, but I do think my reaction to Blood and Cheese would be very similar.

I have similar experience with fear, when my life was endangered I froze. I also remember watching Criminal minds and they said multiple times that people are more likely to scream when they see a gun than a knife. There is just something in human psyche to react differently to a knife

My friend who I watched with was a none reader and he was absolutely horrified by the sounds and scenario alone. Also spoilers for episode 2 but Helena is very obviously deeply traumatized by the experience and grieving differently than her book counterpart.

The bear is not shooting with the actors. The bear was already filmed doing its thing in some green room then CGI into the scene to fit. A scene i may add that is all green screen pish to begin with. Rarely nowadays are movies shot at an actual location. Movie making has been poisoined by CGI.

I actually went and read the books after a video you made talking about the sansa rape and im glad i did. Dan and dave did the show dirty.
